Obama and Black Liberation Theology

Interesting article on Trinity United Church of Christ and its theology/ministry.

I don't think black activism or black liberal theology defines Obama. This church and its message fit with Obama's community work at the time and his desire to help the inner city community deal with its numerous problems. My take on him is that he's much more than just a black activist. He has proven that true already in these first few months of his administration. His policy choices are more eclectic than what can be defined by his former church in Chicago. I think defining him by one association begins to form a caricature rather than a portrait.
