Legislators seek consolidation

I learned today that a OK House committee has filled a shell bill with language that would demand that OSF consolidate all of the financial functions of state agencies to OSF's OKC offices and reduce staff. This would take away local purchasing and payroll offices.

The bill, HB2310, is linked in my Files and Links section below. What sounds good in theory (consolidation of services) would end up costing the state in red tape and boggled actions. Agencies are very different and serve very different purposes and clients.

Local offices can serve those different missions better than a central office.
