Evolution of Groups

I use to say that an email group or list is the best way for everyone to stay in touch. That may still be in certain situations, such as our work group spread across Oklahoma. Our email list keeps us all talking together, keeping each other informed and getting advice from each other.

Our GRBC Yahoo Group is great for standing ready and being available for those moments we need to get urgent news out to each other, such as illness or death in our families. It hasn't proven to be much for conversation. For some reason none of us post little news items or begin discussion on current issues.

However, most of our GRBC group is now on Facebook and there we see much more about the everyday life of each other, or at least for the few who post regularly. It is an interesting phenomenon. Something about Facebook draws us in and encourages to share things.
